G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè (/g̃ɪ/ /ˈècɘ/ [different; other; distinct; various; unique] [sound; music]) is a temperate Large Town located in the Fîthdekî Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè was founded by Êyëkdsm Garèj, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè has a yearly average temperature of 27°C (80°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 29°C (84°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 26°C (78°F). G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè receives an average of 263 cm/y (103 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 2152 m (7060 ft) above sea level.

Overview

G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè was founded durring the early 12th century in summer of the year 1148, by Êyëkdsm Garèj. The establishment of G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature delicute timber framework hidden behind layer upon layer of finly ground plaster bleached to an almost glossy white sheen, with green clay tiled roofs and decorative brass-leafed trim. Even the smallest, poorest looking structures appear to be expencive thanks to the extreem elegence of the organic shapes and paterns going into their lofty, spire-y, vagly gothic designs. The more well off folks live in identicle homes, save for even shiner trim and a more whimsical appearance to their structures flowing forms.

G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè is buildings are arranged arround a network of restrictive flagstone streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town rests behind a thin stone wall. The wall's design was likly directly copied from a castle's parmiter defences. It's simply that the arcatect made G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè's wall substancialy thinner than a castle's walls. While the towers and gatehouses are adiquite, the obvious cost savings measure of making the walls drasticaly thinner reduces their ability to resist siege weapons greatly. The town's impressive-looking wall could fail at a critical moment in battle, and would likely not even resist a few bandits with improvised siege equipment. The town's budget oriented are visibly old, but also obviously well maintained. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with routine mantance of the town's defences.

Before you’ve even set foot into the heart of G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè, you can smell it. The incense. It hangs about the town like a cloud. Monks, priests, and clerics are everywhere, all dedicated to the same god, all performing the same rituals to bless and anoint buildings, streets, people, animals, you name it they are or have blessed it. The same holy symbol is everywhere too. Its on buildings, on people, and even branded into livestock. This certainly loves its god. More than it loves wealth. The town is very clearly poor. Buildings are run down in ways that are not imeadiatly obvious. The people are a bit too thin. The market is very eager to sell to newcomers, but not so eager to buy from them. There’s also a general lack of the hum and buzz of healthy industry in G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè.

Civic Infrastructure

G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè's parks.

G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè.

G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè has a Department of Firefighters, which is responsible for organizing fire fighting efforts during a fire and enforcing local ordinances relating to fire safety.

G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè has a Hall of Slayers, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè's natural decorations nor waterways.

G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

There’s a relatively new religion in G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè which is rapidly gaining power. It might be a sectarian offshoot of a major faith, the unique product of a new prophet, or an outside faith backed by wealthy and powerful foreign supporters. Depending on the demands made on believers, the new faith may be a matter of concern only to the existing clergy, or it might be a major flashpoint for conflict in the community.

G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used has a sleek, linear appearance with stylized, often geometric ornamentation. The primary facade of its buildings often featured a series of set backs that create a stepped outline. Low-relief decorative panels can be found at entrances, around windows, along roof edges or as string courses. It was best known for its use of smooth finish building materials such as stucco, concrete block, glazed brick or mosaic tile. Decorative details can incorporate various artistic or exotic motifs to suit the building's function or the architect's whim. Chevrons, zigzags, and other geometrical motifs are common forms of ornament.

Due to the actions of local Kami, autumn is skipped in G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè.

G̈î-ècê Dêtîkè's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves ritual combat to channel Transmutation energies of tier 3 via throat chanting.
